is looking for a General Manager
RACO-Elektro-Maschinen GmbH (Schwelm, Germany) is a family-owned, global company engaged in the manufacture and distribution of linear motion technology. The RACO-Electric Actuator was invented and patented more than 70 years ago. RACO actuators offer reliable, environmentally safe and economical solutions for demanding automation applications.
RACO is currently seeking a General Manager for its subsidiary, RACO International L.P., to provide overall leadership of the company and local team.
RACO International L.P. is located in Bethel Park, PA and serves the needs of customers in the USA, Canada and Mexico. This includes primarily the sales and manufacturing of customized solutions and services of our products to our customers. RACO also supports its customer base with part sales and repairs as needed.
Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee total company operations including but not limited to:

Production, assembly operations and product quality control

Sales and Marketing:
Revamp sales structures and processes for optimal efficacy and scalability. Directly manage routine sales activities with target and existing customers while providing support to sales team throughout the sales process as appropriate, e.g. during project management and contract negotiations. -
Material Purchasing / Inventory Control:
Oversee and approve material purchases as well as capital investments into the company. -
Engineering:
Oversee and design electrical and mechanical actuator systems details and modifications as required. This includes but is not limited to motor control & protection, VFD, control panels, sensors, control logic (PLC), mechanical component design and modifications, drawings and design calculations. Oversee and manage the office IT infrastructure such as servers, workstations, VOIP and security. -
Overall team leadership:
Motivate and mentor employees to ensure high performance and take corrective actions as appropriate. Currently RACO employs eleven people. -
Carry P&L responsibility for the US subsidiary:
Prepare and manage budgets, sales forecasts and oversee financial reporting to German HQ. -
Direct reporting to the German Headquarter
Qualifications:
Education, work experience and skills

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Business, Engineering, or Production Technology
is required; an MBA would be of value Minimum of 6+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in the electromechanical industry -
Ability to lead and manage employees in a team environment
Strong technical understanding in electrical and mechanical systems and mathematical and physical fundamentals -
Fundamental understanding of sales and general business operations
and the ability to optimize processes -
German language skills
would be beneficial but are not an absolute requirement; candidates should have an appreciation for the German business culture -
Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and MRP Software
